Tozeur is an oasis and a city in south west Tunisia., and it has a population of around 36.000 inhabitants. It is a very good destination to relax and discover nature’s exceptional beauty. The city is located between the salt lakes of Chott el-Jerid(5000sqm), and the smaller Chott el-Gharsa. The city is a populair tourist destination in Tunisia, because it’s easy to to spend a couple of days here, and it has an interesting landscape. The located in a area where many tourist like to come. The oldest part of town is Ouled el-Hadef, which dates from the 14th century. It’s a unique old town with its distinctive traditional handmade brickwork, were you nicely stroll around. It’s also home to one of the country’s most beautiful, and second largest palmeraie that contains about 250.000 palm trees spread over an area of more than 12sq km.
There are more than 225 springs that produce moer than 60 million letters of water daily. The museum in Tozeur is part od the impressive Dar Charait, a great looking building. The museum is looks like an old palace, and has an interesting collection to expose such as; the traditional life, jewellery, pottery, traditional costumes and antiques. Furthermore it houses an them park of cartoons for the kids. In and around the city there are several locations were the Star Wars movie was shot. One of the places is the salt lake of Chott El Jedir.
