Sbeitla

Located in the north-central Tunisia, about 38km east of Kasserine, and 265km from Tunis. The city of Sbeitla is famous for its Roman forum temples. The surrounding area is blessed with good olive grounds. This was/is a good economic, and it makes it also a nice setting. The town was probably established in the 1st century, and grew when the Romans came around the 2nd century. The ancient town has ruins that are really impressive, and itā€™s a must see attraction. Highlights are; the Temple of Minerva that is in very good condition. The Temple of Jupiter that was the one of most important temple for the Romans. The gate of Antonine that arch leading into the open courtyard of the Forum. The arch was built in 139 AD, and is very impressive. There are several churches to admire for example the church of Servus, built in the 4th centuty. Basilica of bellator, and the bigger Basilica of Vitalis with around three brilliant mosaics. A theatre overlooking Sbeitla, built in the 3rd century.
