Nefta

Nefta is considered by most Sufis to be the spiritual home of Sufism, a mystical branch of Islam; many religious buildings are located here. Its located 24 km from Tozeur to the east. The town offers some very interesting sights. La Corbeillie is a palm filled gully that measures almost 1km at its widest point, and about 40m deep, offers are very nice setting. Below La Corbeillie cafe terrace that’s overlooking the gully is a concrete swimming pool where many local children spent their whole day with swimming.

The Ouled Ech Cherif is a traditional house located in the south-eastern part of Nefta. The building has very interesting brick patterns that were used in the old days.
Zaouia of Sidi Brahim is the most imported Sufi religious building in the El Bayadha neighbourhood. It’s here that the Sufi saint is buried. Almost every building in the neighbourhood here has some religious items.
