Beja Tunisia

Beja is a town in northeast of Tunisia, located about 100 km from Tunis, between the Medjerdah River and the Mediterranean, against the foothills of the Khroumire. The mountains of Khroumire from one of the greener regions in Tunisia, and with some of the most beautiful broken hills. Beja was built as a military town, but along the way is has developed into a nice place to visit with some interesting archaeological remains such as: an originally Roman bridge with a span of 70 metres. There is an old Roman fortress with two nice round towers. A commonwealth military cemetery from the allied offensive, and the Great mosque.
